cutback bitumen

Cutback Bitumen – Medium, Rapid & Slow Curing Grades — Export from Iran

Available in Grades: MC30, MC70, MC250, MC800, MC3000 – Types: MC, RC, SC

Cutback Bitumen is produced by blending penetration bitumen with hydrocarbon solvents (diluents) such as kerosene, diesel, or naphtha. This reduces viscosity for cold application and delays setting time based on the curing type: MC (Medium Curing), RC (Rapid Curing), and SC (Slow Curing).

We supply high-quality Cutback Bitumen from major Iranian refineries, available in a full range of grades including MC30, MC70, MC250, MC800, and MC3000, as well as RC and SC types. Ideal for cold mix asphalt, tack coats, prime coats, and road maintenance in regions with limited hot-mix facilities.

Note: “MC” stands for Medium Curing, where kerosene is used as diluent. “RC” (Rapid) uses light naphtha; “SC” (Slow) uses heavier oils. Higher numbers (e.g., MC3000) indicate higher viscosity.

Key Notes

  • MC (Medium Curing): Uses kerosene as diluent; moderate evaporation rate.
  • RC (Rapid Curing): Uses light naphtha; fast curing for quick repairs.
  • SC (Slow Curing): Uses diesel or gas oil; slower evaporation for deep penetration.
  • Viscosity Grades: MC30 (lowest), MC3000 (highest) — selected based on climate and application.
  • All residues meet standard bitumen specifications after curing.
  • Pre-shipment inspection by SGS included for every shipment.

Applications

  • Tack Coats: Bonding layer between asphalt layers (MC70, MC250)
  • Prime Coats: Sealing granular bases before asphalt (SC, MC30)
  • Cold Mix Asphalt: Road patching and maintenance (MC800, MC3000)
  • Surface Dressing: Chip sealing in cold weather (RC, MC types)
  • Road Rehabilitation: In areas with limited hot-mix plants
  • Dust Control: On unpaved roads and construction sites (SC types)
